Tajikistan Bodybuilding Federation organised their FIRST National Bodybuilding Championship since the country became independent in 1991. The competition was organised under the leadership of President Toledzhon Kolnazarov together with the energetic and hardworking Secretary-General Mr. Olim Parpiev.
Tajikistan joined as a new member to the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF) and Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (ABBF) and they participated in the Congress of the ABBF in Pattaya, Thailand in August 2009 and also at the World Bodybuilding Championship/Congress in Dubai, UAE in November 2009.
The competition took place in Dushanbe the capital city of the Republic of Tajikistan on October 25, 2009 with 35 athletes representing the nation from all the cities.
Mr. Anvar Bobojanov, Head of Sports Department of Olympic Committee of Tajikistan together with Mr. Alomahmad Mirzoyev, Deputy Chairman of Committee of Youth and Sports and Tourism of Tajikistan were the honourable guests.
Mr. Ilfat Arasianov, General-Secretary of the Kazakhstan Federation of Bodybuilding assisted the Tajikistan federation on the judging matters as the head judge for this competition. Mr. Ilfat is also a good standing member of the ABBF Judges' Committee.
Tag No.48 - Bakhtovor Jabbarov was the overall Champion.
